Doppelhoppel not only has room for two children but also has a dual function in that when it's turned upside down it's ideal for reading, painting or just lolling around. In other words, it's a toy and a piece of furniture at the same time.
In creating it the designer, Thomas Wehage, wanted to make sure that the silhouette of a traditional rocking horse and its main features would be clearly identifiable, but in a very reduced form. As a result Doppelhoppel makes an impression of modernity but with an underlying nostalgic touch. With parents Doppelhoppel awakens associations of their own childhood in spite of its modernity, while for children it's a versatile companion that provides lots of scope for the imagination.
Doppelhoppel is intended as the first product in a small collection.
The rocking horse is made of birch multiplex and is available in a high-quality HPL coating in eight colours or film-coated in chestnut brown. The environmentally-friendly and robust materials provide safety and lasting enjoyment.
