Isamu Noguchi designed the Rocking Stool 1954 for Knoll International – the originals are collector´s items. Nowadays vitra is the manufacturer of the chair. Its shape resembles a traditional african stool - combined with a Harry Bertoia wire stand. Noguchi planned to produce the stool in plastic, but then he agreed with Knoll to use wood. The smaller version of the Rocking Stools was designed as a children´s stool.
Material: chromed steel, maple or walnut veneer.
